Gabriel Perez

Gabe brings to Incandescent an interest in how people learn and work together, especially when changing circumstances prompt an organization to rethink familiar ways of doing things.

Prior to joining Incandescent, Gabe served as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Navy. Most recently, he led Iran analysis for U.S. Fifth Fleet in the Middle East, informing admirals’ decisions during escalating regional conflict. He reshaped how his team developed and shared knowledge and coordinated analytical efforts across the Intelligence Community. Through this work, he became fascinated by how an organization’s ability to learn and build on its collective expertise shapes what it can achieve. He began his naval career as a Diving Officer, supporting the training through which divers develop the expertise and judgment to operate in demanding environments.

Gabe graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in East Asian Studies, where he focused on the formation of Chinese national identity in the 20th century. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his partner, reading fiction on the subway, running in Prospect Park, and always looking to next year for a better Mets season.
